Being a "Kahu" is about understanding that we do not think of ourselves as "Owners" of animals, but rather "Protector or Guardian" of animal life. A Kahu puts their animal first before themselves in many areas of their lives. Having this mindset from day one will harbor good decision making skills that will maximize the animals quality of life and will nurture the bond you share with them. Our teaching philosophy is centered around personalized animal instruction and care techniques; based on the species of animal. In a Group setting; such as a Reptile Zoo Party or setting up an In Office enclosure, we believe in identifying each species unique strengths and weaknesses; which will allow us to  tailor each presentation to meet your individual needs. Not all reptiles and invertebrates are made alike, so the care needs can be vastly different.

Yes. Because many kids; as well as Adults, are fist time animal Kahu's, it is very important to have a consultation as to what kind of care needs are sufficient for your home or office. We offer 1 hour consultations free of charge, so that you are fully informed of what will be the most optimal husbandry requirements for your new addition. It can be overwhelming at first, but we can set you on the right path from day one!

Our Zoo Party sessions typically last 45 minutes to 1 Hour, but we can accommodate longer or shorter sessions if necessary. By adding more animals or having you select the ones you are most interested in learning about, we can tailor the presentation times accordingly. Our Parties have a wide range of animals from Colubrid and Boa species of snakes, Skink and Desert dwelling lizards, and even many different kinds of invertebrates; such as Millipedes, Isopods, Tarantulas, and even Scorpions if you're feeling adventurous.
